Free Trials

Offer subscribers a taste of your channel before they pay.

How free trials work

When you enable a free trial, subscribers who tap your paywall link can choose to start a trial instead of paying immediately. They receive a join link right away and get access to your channel for the trial duration — with no payment required.

  • Subscribers get access immediately, with no payment required.
  • 2 days before the trial ends, the bot sends them a payment reminder with a checkout link.
  • If they pay before the trial ends, access continues without any gap.
  • If they do not pay, they are removed from the channel when the trial expires.
  • Each subscriber can only use a free trial once per paywall.

Eligibility

Free trials are only available on subscription access types: Monthly, 3-Month, and Yearly. They are not available on One-time or Lifetime paywalls.

A subscriber can only use the free trial once per paywall. If they have ever had an active subscription or a previous trial for that paywall, the trial option is not shown when they tap the subscribe link.

Subscribers who started a payment checkout but did not complete it (PENDING or FAILED status) are still eligible for a trial.

Choosing between trial and payment

When a subscriber opens the paywall link, they see both options: Start Free Trial and Pay Now. A subscriber who taps Pay Now can switch to the trial as long as they have not yet completed a payment.
