How Payment Requests Work

Step-by-step flow

   You create the request

   At cloakd.ai/create or via the Telegram bot, you choose the coin and network you want to receive (e.g. USDC on Ethereum), enter the amount, and connect your wallet. Cloakd generates a unique payment link.

   You share the link

   Copy the link and send it to the payer. You can share it on Telegram, WhatsApp, email, or show it as a QR code. The link works on any device.

   The payer opens the link

   The payer sees your request: the amount and coin you want. They pick which coin they want to pay with from over 200 options — it does not have to match what you requested.

4. 4

   The payer sends the payment

   The payer connects a wallet (MetaMask, Phantom, etc.) or copies a deposit address. Cloakd shows the exact amount needed in the coin they chose, calculated at the current rate.

5. 5

   Cross-chain conversion and settlement

   Cloakd converts the payer's coin to the coin you requested via SideShift. Your wallet receives the exact amount you specified. The whole process typically takes about 30 seconds.

Payment statuses

Once the payer sends funds, the payment moves through these statuses in order:

Wallet privacy

Your wallet address is never shown to the payer. They only see the payment link. Cloakd generates a one-time deposit address for each payment, and the conversion routes funds to your wallet automatically.

When you create a request, you connect your wallet once to record your receiving address. That address is stored server-side and is never included in the payment link or shown in the payer's checkout.
